Proactive communications mean proactive planning
1. Pre-Renovation:
At our first meeting, we listen carefully to your needs and desires, answer all your questions, and go over various aspects of the project. We also go into detail about the functionality, purpose, and mechanical needs of your renovation. We feel this face to face, in-depth interview is important, because it lets us advise you early on the best and most cost-effective ways to achieve your dream.
We find that thorough discussions from the beginning about materials, quality and cost open up good communication with our clients, an important component of any home remodeling project. Using our extensive renovation experience, we will offer you informed recommendations, often pointing out possibilities or pitfalls you might not have been aware of.
Our experience also means that most of the time we can give you a rough estimate right there on the spot. If we can't, because there are further questions or research necessary, we will provide an estimate promptly.
2. The Estimate:
To ensure accuracy, we wait until all your questions are answered before writing up the final estimate. Once it is written, we go over it carefully to ensure your approval before drawing up the contract. Only after the contract is reviewed and approved by you do we take the deposit.
3. The Renovation:
Design/Build:
Some clients prefer to hire an architect to design their renovation. If so, we will be glad to assist them in every way we can. However, we are also happy to work closely with you to develop a Design/Build proposal. Either way, if permits are required, we will take care of submitting the design to the proper authorities, obtaining the permit and scheduling both the rough-in and the final inspections.
Interior Design:
If you wish, we can introduce you to one of our preferred interior designers, who is more than willing to work with you on design concepts, color and material choices, etc.
Materials shopping:
We are more than willing to go with you to shop for materials and products as necessary. If you prefer, we can also bring sample materials and products to your home for your consideration. You are also welcome to do your own shopping.
Once all the final designs have been worked out, and you approve the Designer's Plan, we begin construction.
Work commences:
Our Livability Commitment⢠ensures that your living areas are shielded from dust, dirt and grime that other contractors ignore. We know how stressful renovations can be, so we are careful to keep your home as neat as if it were our own.
Scheduling is a careful collaboration between the client and HFHI. We will update you immediately if there are any changes.
To keep communication and feedback continuous, we hold regular ongoing walk-through inspections with you during the project.
4. Completion:
After we are done, we will hold our final walk-through of the project with you, thoroughly reviewing the quality of work and checking to make sure all your desires have been met.
We always follow up after the work is complete, to make sure everything works smoothly and that you are completely satisfied.
Afterwards we will ask you to fill out a Completion Survey. This survey is a valuable tool for us, and helps us continue to provide our clients with conscientious and professional service.
